Two Johns, Lennon and Wayne and Other Random Rantings

* John Lennon was overrated, and nothing he recorded after the Beatles is worth a warm piss.

Come on, his voice was always sub-par. He wrote decent music, when he had McCartney to spur him on. Once on his own however, he mostly wrote unlistenable crap that only thirteen people in the Western hemisphere still play.

* Your favorite political commentator, no matter who he or she is, is a colossal windbag

All of them! It's hysterical to me that those on the left think Rush Limbaugh is a complete asswipe, but will spend hours listening to a puppet head like Randi Rhodes. Shit from another cow, is still shit folks. Honestly it is all entertaining from time to time, but come on! taking these people seriously, or voting a certain way because they tell you too, is tantamount to letting George Clinton dress you for a job interview. It's just not the smart thing to do.

* John Wayne was an underrated actor.

The "he played himself" argument is simply untrue. The Duke gives masterful performances in several different type roles. Watch;

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Quiet Man
The Searchers
The Shootist

All great performances, on a par with his Oscar winning roll in True Grit. Let a guy play several Shakespearean rolls, like Laurence Oliver and some idiot will call him the greatest actor of all time. Let him work primarily in westerns as Wayne did and they'll say, he's not a "real" actor. I'm not trying to create Wayne fans here, I'm stating a fact.

Okay, I'm ranted out for now,
